SIPS – PROTECTION, SECURITY AND FIRE SAFETY IN SOUTHERN RUSSIA
AN EXHIBITION OF INTEGRATED SECURITY IN
SOUTHERN RUSSIA

The aim of the exhibition is to facilitate the implementation of government programmes aimed at providing integrated security in southern Russia.  A set of measures aimed at preventing, combating and eliminating threats and dangerous situations will be presented both within the exhibition’s business programme and at exhibitors’ stands.   

The concept of “integrated security” combines solutions to many security problems simultaneously.  This follows from the basic human need to have protection from all types of threats.  Along with the many existing threats, new ones constantly appear.  One of the components of integrated security is safety in construction.  This topic will be given special attention at SIPS. 

Part of the exhibition is devoted to safety in construction.  It will present fire-fighting equipment, fire vehicles, fireproof materials and structures, fire protection systems and rescue equipment.  Special attention will be given to an automated fire protection control system, which is part of safety in construction, which includes alarm systems, access control systems and video surveillance systems.  This system can prevent and significantly reduce the consequences of fires, the destruction of buildings, terrorist attacks, and accidents involving the release of chemically hazardous substances, and use of explosives, and biologically hazardous or radioactive substances.  

Transport security is another part of integrated security.  Threats of a natural, anthropogenic and social character, which includes terrorism, will be highlighted.  The most widespread threat is anthropogenic.  64% of all incidents and catastrophes are caused by technical defects and malfunctions.  About 32% of transport accidents are a result of natural cataclysms, and terrorism accounts for 4%.  Therefore, it is not worth ignoring a single component of transport security.  A sector at SIPS 2010 will be devoted to this topic and it will be covered in the business programme.                    

SIPS will demonstrate the latest equipment and technologies used in customs and border control, information protection equipment, communications systems and CCTV.
